On My Mind-by Dolisha DeVonne

Is there a reason you’re on my mind all the time?

Did whatever you made me feel, make you feel alive?

Did you get butterflies?

Did I make you smile?

Did you think of me for just a little while?

Please tell me, I’m not the only one going crazy without you?

I told myself this is the last song I will write about you,

But my pen keeps bleeding on this page,

Remembering all the love we made.

Late night dreams of you holding me tight,

Wanting to be in your arms tonight,

Passion flowing, late night moaning,

Falling asleep til the early morning,

Just a couple of things I wish we could’ve done,

Now I’m facing facts that what we had is over and done,

But here I go again—pen bleeding on this page,

Reminding myself of the love we made.

MARCH THE THIRD

By: Dolisha DeVonne

We made love in the spring,

In summer heat, our fire burned strong,

Then one day you kissed my lips,

And by the fall, you were gone.

Never expected for you I would fall,

So naïve to believe it wouldn’t happen at all,

Drunk from the essence like cabernet wine,

When he touched my body, he took his time,

The way he loved—so warm and sweet,

He’d comfort me in his arms until I fell asleep,

I never took for granted

The feel of every kiss you planted

Nor will I forget that beautiful smize,

That compliment those coffee-brown eyes,

I wish I could go back to that August day,

Sitting in my car on that warm, humid day

Staring at your face thru my cell phone screen

Overjoyed to be in your presence and seen

Or maybe rewind back to those sensual late nights

Where we shared our most intimate moments

Reminiscing on how you held me tight,

Memories, embedded and reminded every season,

And sometimes for no reason,

Something out the blue will remind me of you

Daydreaming of rare moments,

Smiling, just by thinking about you,

Flash backs, I want to forget, but I lost when I fought,

Causes me to get lost in my thoughts.

Yet still I progress, slowing leaving behind what I felt,

And embrace these new seasons all by myself
